Welcome to the State Comptroller's Bond
Allocation Database Web Site. This project started as an internal resource for
my staff to track bond fund allocations over time. We wanted the ability to
examine and categorize this information in a variety of ways. Examples include
by date, use of funds, program area and recipient category – including by
municipality.
As the design and implementation phases
progressed, I decided the public should have access to this information as
well. The result is this database, which can be searched directly
from the Comptroller's web site or downloaded
entirely. This database is part of my ongoing initiative to open the state's
books to citizens, public advocates, academics and the media in order to
enhance their important oversight role in the government's system of checks and
balances.
Knowledge is power and with this
open-book initiative I am honored to return a piece of that power to its
rightful owner - the people of the State of Connecticut.
